DIGESTION INDEX

Component scores used in the Digestion Index on the Health Equations Blood Test Evaluation include:

Globulin......low globulin can be the result of poor protein digestion.

Tissue Cholesterol...tissue cholesterol results in low cholesterol in cell membranes which disrupts cell functions.

Urea Nitrogen and Body Protein......if either or both of these score are low there is faulty protein digestion, assuming adequate intake of protein.

Calcium/Phosphorus......this ratio is a key regulator of the autonomic nervous system which in turn regulates digestion.

Toxin Load......a high Toxin Load Score indicates disruption of nerve, muscle and myoneuronal junction function. Biotoxins and heavy metals change cell membrane fatty acid composition and thereby, cell membrane structure and function.

Uric Acid......Uric Acid is a mycotoxin. An elevation in the Uric Acid Score indicates overgrowth of fungi (yeast) in the gastrointestinal tract. The toxins produced by the fungi interfere with digestive functions.

Triglycerides......a high Triglyceride Score indicates stomach alkalinity.

Glucose......a low or high glucose is often the result of poor digestion of protein, fats and carbohydrates.
Chloride and Anion Gap......a low Chloride or a high Anion Gap Score indicate hypochlorhydria.
